Published in FilGoal on 21 - 08 - 2009

Petrojet striker Al-Sayed Hamdi said that 'five thousand Zamalek fans' tried to assault him after the petroleum side's 2-1 win over the White Knights on Thursday.
Mokhtar Mokhtar's men recorded their second consecutive Egyptian Premier League win after coming from behind to stun Zamalek 2-1 in Cairo, courtesy of strikes from Hamdi and Walid Soliman.
The scorer of the equalizer said he was chased by the Cairo giants' angry fans after the game, and could have got seriously hurt.
"I was going home on foot along with my teammate Mohamed Shaban, because we live right next to Osman Ahmed Osman Stadium," Hamdi told Modern TV.
"All of a sudden nearly five thousand Zamalek fans lunged at us, so we ran away and got into a nearby building to shelter.
"We stayed there for more than two hours, while the angry fans were hurling stones and other missiles at us. They destroyed dozens of cars and apartments' exteriors.
"After we went out, We reported the incident to the police."
Beaten Up
On the other hand, Petrojet's match coordinator Omar Adam stated that some of Zamalek's supporters caused an affray in the stands.
"Petrojet's spectators were beaten up by their Zamalek counterparts during and after the game," Adam told FilGoal.com.
"The security forces interfered to give us (Petrojet's officials and players) protection from Zamalek's fans, but our bus was heavily damaged.
"We are going to file a complaint to the Egyptian FA once we get back to Suez."
