Ahli's substitute striker Osama Hosni has overcome an ankle problem, and may take part in his side's upcoming league game with Police Union. The 27-year-old was suffering from a twisted ankle, and was not expected to recover before Wednesday's game. However, Ahli chief medic Ihab Ali announced on Tuesday that Hosni shrugged his injury, and could feature against Police. Hosni, who took part in Monday's night training, might be deployed upfront alongside Hani Al-Egeizi, who has recently returned from injury either. The Red Devils still have a host of strikers unavailable through injury though.
Doe Newly-signed hitman Francis Doe is still nursing a hamstring problem. Mohamed Fadl, who also arrived at the Cairo club this summer, is still sidelined along with fellow frontmen Emad Meteb and Ahmed Belal. All three players are still on the road to recovery. Ahli could well resort to naming striker Mohamed Talaat, who's currently participating in a training camp held by Egypt U-21, in the squad to add more frontline options. Ahli failed to beat Police last season, as they lost 1-0 in their first meeting and were held to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture. Hossam Al-Badri's side claimed all three points from their Egyptian Premier League opening match this season by defeating Mahalah 2-0.
