Egyptian striker Mido flew to England on Friday morning to reunite with his Middlesbrough teammates for the club's pre-season preparations. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough's official website confirmed that both Mido and Egypt midfielder Mohamed Shawky will not take part in the club's friendly against Macclesfield Town. Shawky was given a prolonged rest by manager Gareth Southgate after the latter played with the Pharaohs in the Confederations Cup and in the Rwanda qualifier. Middlesbrough were demoted from the English Premiership last season, and the Egyptian duo are looking to leave the club in order to secure Premiership football.
