Ismaili chairman Nasr Aboul-Hassan said he expected Zamalek fans to support his side in their quest to dethrone Egyptian Premier League holders Ahli. The Dervishes are joint leaders with Ahli on 57 points as the league race is expected to go down to the wire. Zamalek fans would be happy to see arch-rivals Ahli lose a league title the Red Devils thought was all but guaranteed earlier in the season. The White Knights' supporters demonstrated such a feeling when they bizarrely celebrated Zamalek's 3-1 defeat to Ismaili last month. "Ismaili and Zamalek fans have been enjoying that friendly relationship for many years," Aboul-Hassan told Egyptian Radio on Friday. "Zamalek fans are standing by us. I believe they will support us in the coming league games." Ismaili face relegation-threatened Telecom Egypt and already-relegated Tersana while Ahli take on much tougher opponents. The Red Devils will play third-placed Harras Hodoud and mid-table Gaish in their remaining league games. A playoff match will determine the competition's winner if Ahli and Ismaili finish level on points.
