Emad Meteb ended his eight-match goal drought to score a brace and help Ittihad crush Ettifaq 3-0 in the Saudi League on Thursday. The Egypt striker, who is on loan from Cairo giants Ahli, opened the scoring after 18 minutes. He cut ahead of two Ettifaq defenders at the near post to side-foot Mohamed Noor's cross into the net. Meteb scored his second of the night six minutes later with a superb low shot after another assist from Noor to extend Ittihad's advantage. Defender Saleh Al-Saqri wrapped up Ittihad's victory one minute before the final whistle. Meteb, who was recently criticized for a string of below-par displays, has netted his first goal since scoring the winner in Ittihad's 1-0 derby victory over Jeddah rivals Ahli last December. The 26-year-old took his tally to ten league goals, just two behind the league's top scorer Nasser Al-Shamrani. The win put Ittihad on top of the table with 46 points, two ahead of second-placed Hilal, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Shabab. Watch Meteb's first goal Watch Meteb's second goal
