Real Madrid hammered Real Betis 6-1 to narrow the gap with Primera Liga leaders Barcelona, who played with ten men against Espanyol to suffer a 2-1 defeat in the Catalan derby. In a frantic first-half, Real produced a dominant display to brush aside Betis. In-form striker Raul, who last week became Real's all-time scorer, and Jan Klaas Hunteelar scored two goals apiece at Santiago Bernabeu. Gonzalo Huguain and Sergio Ramos were also on the scoresheet to condemn Betis, who held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw last week, to an embarrassing defeat. At the Nou Camp, Barcelona were made to pay for the dismissal of Malian midfielder Seydou Keita before the break. Ivan de la Pena scored twice after the break to stun the home crowd. Barca pulled one back through a Yaya Toure goal but the visitors held onto their lead to claim a precious win. Barcelona are on top of the league table with 60 points but their lead over Real, who have 53, has been cut to seven points. Watch Real V Betis goals
