Emad Meteb wasted a vital penalty as Ittihad missed out on the chance of reaching the Crown Prince semi-final after losing to Hossam Ghaly's Nasr 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Nasr converted all their spot-kicks, beginning with a successful effort from Egyptian midfielder Ghaly, who joined Nasr from Tottenham Hotspur last month. Ittihad's only miss came from Ghaly's compatriot Meteb, who blasted the ball straight down the middle but Nasr keeper Khaled Radi was on full alert to block his shot. Neither side managed to break the deadlock during both halves as the game went into extra-time. Ryan Belal fired Nasr in front in the 114th minute with a powerful shot in a packed goalmouth. Ittihad skipper Mohamed Noor leveled the score four minutes into the second-half of extra time when he beat his marker to Renato's cross to head home. Meteb, who has been under-fire recently for his inconsistent displays, started on the bench before being introduced in the second half instead of Nayef Hazazi, who picked up an injury. The 25-year-old, who joined from Ahli last summer on a season-long loan, made an impressive start to his Ittihad adventure, scoring 10 goals in all competitions. But Meteb suffered a dip in form afterwards that saw him fail to find the net for seven successive games.
