Ahli remained tight-lipped on speculation linking them with a move for Ahli Dubai's Egyptian youngster Mohamed Talaat. "No comment," Ahli's marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com when asked whether his side are interested in the Egypt's U-20 team striker. "We will not announce anything regarding our new signings unless they are official." Emirate paper Al-Bayan said that the Egyptian champions are close to reaching an agreement with Ahli Dubai over the signing of Talaat. Talaat, who is currently participating in the U-20 African Cup of Nations with Egypt, made few appearances for Ahli Dubai's first-team. He usually plays for the club's reserves. Ahli are looking to sign a new striker in the January transfer window despite having five frontmen at their disposal. Coach Manuel Jose relies on Flavio Amado as a lone striker, with Ahmed Belal and Osama Hosni serving as the Angolan's back-ups. Ahmed Hassan Farag and Hani Al-Egeizi have been given limited opportunities since joining in the summer from Ghazl Mahalla and Baladeya respectively.
