Zamalek have decided to deduct money from every player who took part in the 1-0 defeat to third-division side Bani Obeid in the Egyptian Cup round of 32. "The deduction will be the biggest in the club's history," interim coach Ahmed Refaat told Zamalek official website on Sunday. "The minimum deduction for a player will be EGP 50,000." Despite having an almost full-strength squad, title holders Zamalek exited the cup at the first hurdle. The Cairo giants implemented new disciplinary measures recently after a string of poor results. A host of key players, including Gamal Hamza and Mohamed Aboul-Ella, were suspended for a month before being reprieved. But the punishments Zamalek imposed did not pay dividends, with the White Knights winning just once in seven matches.
