The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) are expected not to discipline Ahli midfielder Hossam Ashour for his alleged verbal abuse during the 3-3 draw against ENPPI. Ashour was caught on camera verbally abusing either an ENPPI player or the referee. However, the competitions' committee – an EFA subsidiary – will not be counting on lips-reading for disciplinary decisions. A committee insider told FilGoal.com that after Zamalek striker Amr Zaki was punished for a similar incident last season, lips-reading have since then been abandoned as a way of spotting players' misbehavior. Zaki was suspended for three games and fined an EGP10.000 after videos showed he verbally abused a referee during Zamalek's fixture with Baladeyat Mahalla last season. The row over the incident convinced the committee not to use lips-reading for punishing players.
