Mido is set to make his Egypt comeback in this month's friendly game with Sudan, but Mohamed Zidan is still out of favor. Mido's Middlesbrough teammate Mohamed Shawky was also recalled, along with foreign-based trio Amr Zaki, Hosni Abd-Rabou and Essam Al-Hadari. Egypt coach Hassan Shehata said earlier that the door is open for Zidan, who was handed an indefinite ban for faking injury prior a World Cup qualifier with DR Congo in June. However, the Hamburg striker was not chosen for the friendly scheduled for August 20th, despite the fact that his suspension is likely to be lifted by the Egyptian FA. "Zidan was not selected for technical reasons, it is not a disciplinary action," said Egypt trainer Hamada Sedki. The list didn't include Amir Azmi and Sherif Ekrami, in addition to Hossam Ghaly, who is yet to recover from a knee injury. The local-based players will complete the squad on August 14th, one week after the kickoff of the Egyptian league's new season.
