Germany keeper Jens Lehman will start a new chapter in his career as he decided to join Stuttgart ending a five-year spell with Arsenal. "The talks with the leaders of VfB Stuttgart were very pleasant from the beginning. I look forward to Vfb and the Bundesliga and I want to play my part in a successful 2008/2009 season." the 38-year old keeper told Stuttgart's official website. Lehman inked a one-year deal with an option to renew his contract at the end of the season. "Jens Lehmann was our desired candidate for the goalkeeper position from the outset," said coach Armin Veh. The Mannschaft number one has been linked with a move away from the Emirates as he lost his regular place in the Gunners' lineup. Talks with Stuttgart have been put on hold as Lehman said that he will give his decision after the Euro 2008. There were rumors that he might retire this summer but apparently the Stuttgart bosses persuaded him to extend his career for at least another season.
