Mohamed Abou-Treika could need three months of treatment to shrug off his recurring knee problem, Ahli doctor Ehab Ali said late on Friday. The classy playmaker pulled out of Egypt's squad for the World Cup qualifier against DR Congo on Sunday after aggravating his knee injury. He flew to Germany to undergo medical tests and find out the full extent of his injury. The results were not so promising. German knee surgeon Andreas Imhoff advised Abou-Treika to get adequate rest in order to fully recover. "Imhoff said there was no need for surgery, but Abou-Treika must have a rest for between four and six weeks," Ali said. "Then he will need further six weeks to undergo rehabilitation before taking part in training. "Imhoff was unhappy that Abou-Treika returned to action almost immediately after going under the knife in March." The 29-year-old said recently that he won't rush himself into action before he fully recovers from his knee problem.
