Ghazl Al-Mahalla striker Ahmed Hassan has decided to join Ahli instead of their arch-rivals Zamalek, the player's agent said on Monday. Tamer Al-Nahhas told FilGoal.com that Hassan agreed an EGP 2.6-million deal with Ahli and he would sign after Monday's fixtures. Mahalla play neighbors Baladeya as already-champions Ahli take on Al-Gaish. Zamalek were on the brink of signing Hassan, but the players desire to play for Ahli stalled the move, FilGoal.com understands. Hassan joined Mahalla in 2006 from Aluminum and had a successful first season, netting 12 goals. Hassan scored 11 times this season. He is placed second in the league's scorers list. Egypt manager Hassan Shehata called up the 26-year-old forward on several occasions but he didn't take part in the African Cup of Nations 2008 due to injury. Degla Defender Meanwhile, Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi confirmed that a loan was struck with third division Wadi Degla for 23-year-old full-back Abdul-Hamid Ahmed. "We signed Abdul-Hamid from Degla on a one-year loan, with an option to keep him permenantly next season," he told FilGoal.com. "We have been watching him for a while, and the coach approved the move."
