Francesco Totti has successfully undergone an operation on his knee, as surgeon Pierpaolo Mariani expects the Roma ace to make quick recovery. Totti repaired his anterior cruciate ligament as he was praised by professor Mariani for having a fighter's spirit. "I found the perfect knee, the knee of a fighter," Mariani described the former Italy international, who injured himself against Livorno last weekend. "He has made miraculous recoveries before and it's up to him to do it again. It'll be a job for him and the medical staff to make the difference." The 31-year-old forward suffered a fractured fibula and ligament damage in February 2006, but returned in May, helping Italy to clinch the World Cup in Germany.
