Egyptian defender Amir Azmi will play in the UEFA Champions League next season after Anorthosis Famagusta clinched the Cypriot League title on Saturday. Anorthosis' nearest challengers APOEL FC slumped to a 1-0 away defeat to Alki Larnaca to pave the way for Anorthosis to win the league. Anorthosis are on top of the league table on 64 points with three matches to go. They have an unassailable nine-point lead over APOEL. Former Zamalek defender Azmi joined Anorthosis in January after terminating his contract with Saudi Arabia's Al-Shabab by mutual consent.
