Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs admitted that the 6-3 drubbing by VFB Stuttgart on Saturday could mean the end of their Bundesliga title hopes. Werder are now seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich, and could lose second spot if Hamburg beat Nurnberg on Sunday. "When you concede six goals you don't have the right to talk about the title,” former Germany international Allofs told reporters after the game. "You can only be the champions when you know how to be clever. We're now setting our sights on qualifying for the Champions League. That's going to be hard enough." Bremen have never slipped down the third place since 2003, as Thomas Schaff's team were crowned champions in 2004.
