Premiership leaders Arsenal gave away two vital points at Birmingham City in a dramatic 2-2 draw at St. Andrews on Saturday. The Londoners conceded a last-gasp penalty kick from James McFadden, who also gave the home side a 28th minute lead with a well-taken freekick. But Theo Walcott scored twice to put Arsenal in front, before Gael Clichy was adjudged to have fouled Stuart Parnaby in injury time, when McFadden dispatched the equalizer. Arsenal captain William Gallas, who looked stranded after the game, was fuming with the penalty decision and was booked in the process.
Eduardo breaks leg Eduardo Blow The game was overshadowed by the horrific injury of Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva shortly after kickoff. The Croatian received an imprudent tackle from Martin Taylor after just three minutes, as the Blues defender was immediately sent off before the game stopped for eight minutes. Eduardo was taken to hospital in agony and it was confirmed that he suffered a broken leg, as Sky television refused to provide replays for the challenge because it was too irritating. The Brazilian-born striker will likely miss next summer's Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
