Arsenal put on an outstanding display against Milan but were held to a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday. Despite Arsenal's absolute dominance, a draw means Milan have a slight advantage to reach the last eight when they host the second leg after two weeks at the San Siro. Emmanuel Adebayor, who was a pain in Milan's side, squandered a golden opportunity just before the final whistle, heading Theo Walcott's cross against the crossbar. Arsenal lost defender Kolo Toure in the first five minutes due to injury while Milan's Alexander Pato was stretchered off on his Champions League debut. The Londoners laid siege to Milan areas through out the game, deploying their flawless passing game and launching a barrage of shots and crosses from both flanks. Milan's aging stars were left chasing shadows in the second period with their fitness levels failing to match the mobility and class of Arsene Wenger's men. Bakary Sagna and Emmanuel Eboue dominated the right flank, giving Milan captain Paulo Maldini, 40, a tough task. The duo swung lethal crosses but none of them could be converted past stand-in goalie Zeljco Kalac. Alexander Hleb and Gael Clichy deployed similar pressure on the other side of the field but Massimo Oddo was up to the challenge. FIFA Footballer of the Year Kaka and World Cup winners Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso were kept at bay thanks to the brilliance of Mathieu Flamini and Cesc Fabregas.
