Italy coach Roberto Donadoni revealed why he overlooked some of Serie A's in-form players for the friendly against Portugal on Wednesday. Donadoni said that he wants to use as many players ahead of this summer's Euro 2008 finals, and that 'no body should feel excluded' as it is too early to decide on the final list. "I thought I'd try out some new players because this is one of the last opportunities," he told Football Italia. "The players that are left out shouldn't be worrying, as they only need to be concerned if they are putting in poor performances – we have four months left." The former AC Milan midfielder had given Genoa's Marco Borriello the nod at the expense of strikers like Alessandro Del Piero, Alberto Gilardino and Antonio Cassano. "Vincenzo Iaquinta? Del Piero? Cassano? Alberto Gilardino? I'd rather you asked me about Borriello," he added. "Cassano is a player who I know best, he needs to be stimulated and call-ups don't do that. He needs to grow more, so I am waiting expectantly. "Del Piero knows very well what the situation is. Four months ahead of the European Championships nobody should feel excluded." The world champions are paired alongside France, Holland and Romania in the deadly Euro 2008 Group C.
