Zamalek captain Hazem Emam was dropped from his side's squad for the Egyptian Cup game with Maleyet Kafr Al-Zayat on Friday. The 32-year-old playmaker was initially named in a 20-man squad before manager Ruud Krol left him out as he failed to recover in time for the game. Emam missed the 3-0 victory over Ismailia Electricity in the round of the 32 due to injury. Newly-signed midfielder Mohamed Abdullah was also dropped despite being included in the initial squad. Full-back Ahmed Ghanem is back after serving a one-match ban. Striker Sherif Ashraf and central midfielder Ahmed Abdul-Raouf miss the game after collecting two cautions.
