Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas has rubbished on Friday reports indicating that his side have signed controversial defender Ibrahim Saied. "We did not engage in any talks with the player," the wealthy chairman told Zamalek official website. Saied, the former Ahli and Zamalek versatile defender, repeatedly stressed that he wants to end his adventure with Turkish side Ankaragucu and return to Egypt. He initially targeted a move to Ahli but the Red Devils opted against making any approach, citing Saied's previous problems with the club as a reason for their stance. It now seems that the 28-year-old, who was included in Egypt's preliminary squad for the African Cup of Nations, will fail in his attempt to join Zamalek.
