Hamburg SV will do whatever it takes to persuade skipper Rafael Van der Vaart stay at the AOL Arena. The Dutchman's contract runs out in 2010, but he has a €1.5million minimum fee release clause which could well see him move on in January. Van der Vaart was pleading to leave to Valencia over the summer, and speculation suggests that Chelsea have entered the race for signing him. However, HSV chairman Bernd Hoffman said that the Bundesliga side will not sacrifice their star man easily. "The topic is not finished for us. We are still concerning ourselves with negotiations. We still want Rafael to stay with us," he told Kicker on Saturday.
