Ahli midfielder Hassan Mostafa is expected to sign a new three-year deal which will keep him with the African champions until 2010. A source inside the Cairo giants said that the unsettled midfielder has finally quashed speculation suggesting his exit, as he accepted a further extension to his contract after a meeting with assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri. Mostafa, who has been a regular for Ahli throughout the last two seasons, has been out of favor for manager Manuel Jose during the past few weeks, but he looks to have settled for a stay at last.
The former Ittihad midfielder recieved a $300,000 offer from Qatari club Qatar last week, but Ahli turned down the proposal, as they demanded $1million. Meanwhile, Ahli will unveil new signing Moataz 'Eno' in a press conference on Thursday, after the midfielder's switch from Zamalek is set to be completed. Eno has been under-fire by Zamalek during the past few months after the club claimed that he signed for Ahli before the legal period of six months. However, the case has been solved by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA)and Eno's move to Ahli was approved, but the 24-year-old was fined EGP 50,000.
