AC Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani has denied on Thursday that the UEFA Champions League finalists are interested in signing Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon. "Buffon? No, we already have Nelson Dida and he will stay between Milan's posts," Calcio Italia magazine quoted Galliani as saying to Sky Italia. Rumors linked the World Cup winning goalie with move away from Juventus after he admitted that the Bianconeri need several years to be competitive in Serie A. Juventus were demoted to Serie B due to their part in the infamous Italian match-fixing scandal but on the verge of regaining their place in the top flight. Meanwhile, Galliani has expressed his hope that skipper Paolo Maldini will carry on playing for another year after the veteran defender revealed he is reconsidering his retirement plans. "He is an element who represents continuity for us and that means strength. We are counting on the fact that he can play for another year."
