Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello hailed his side's determination to complete the superb comeback which earned them a thrilling 4-3 win over Espanyol at the Bernabeu on Saturday. UEFA Cup finalists Espanyol almost shattered Real's Primera Liga title dreams with a stunning 3-1 first half score line, but Capello's men overturned the defeat with a spectacular second-half display. "I am happy because the team displayed indomitable faith in the victory. I liked the character they demonstrated and their enthusiasm to turn the game around," Capello told a press conference. Capello admitted that his side was fortunate to find the target three times and turn things around in the second-half, but he stressed that luck was not the only factor. "Luck plays an important part, but winning isn't possible without hard work. This isn't a casino where the ball turns." Real climbed to the Spanish La Liga summit after beating Espanyol and Capello believes there is no room for mistakes in Real's upcoming fixtures.
Capello was proud of his players "Its times like these that we are convinced that we can win every match, we're treating each match like a final and we can't let any points slip through our fingers." Argentine Gonzalo Higuain described his joy to having scored the winner for Los Merengues. "I don't have words to describe how happy I am. We got off to a rocky start, but we ended up turning things around, and that's what matters," said the Argentine. "All players dream of scoring such an important goal. We celebrated it so much because we were all so happy. "I would like to dedicate it to the whole team, the coaching staff, and the fans. It was a huge pleasure being able to celebrate it with the Madridistas."
