Under-fire goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef has been left out of Zamalek's 20-man squad for Bany Sweif game in the Egyptian Cup round of 16 on Friday night. Zamalek's technical staff opted not to include him in the squad after he sustained a bruise in his knee. Due to the injury of Zamalek's first-choice keeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed and deputy Abdul-Monsef, Wael Zenga is expected to stand between the sticks against first-division side Bany Sweif. Youngster Emad Al-Sayed has been promoted to sit on the substitutes' bench as Zamalek are chasing their only chance of grabbing silverware this season. Abdul-Monsef has said recently that he will not play again for Zamalek after the fans accused him of being responsible for the club's Arab Champions League elimination after conceding two goals at home against Jordan's Faisali. However, Abdul-Monsef made a U-turn on his decision after Zamalek released a statement confirming their confidence in him, but the 30-year-old keeper revealed he will consider his options at the end of the season.
