Former Zamalek assistant coach Mahmoud Saad, who has been fired after a bust-up with Henri Michel, claimed that he was sacked because he didn't go to training drunk, referring to the Frenchman's behavior. Zamalek showed Saad the door after he was involved in a dispute with Michel but he took a swipe at the club, revealing what he thinks were the real reasons behind the club's decision. "I was surprised after I knew that Zamalek coaching staff was holding a meeting while I was watching the youth team training, they did not inform me," Saad told Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm on Tuesday. "When I asked Michel why he didn't notify me of the meeting he told me I'm no longer needed in the club but I hit back, insisting that I will not leave my post. "Zamalek board sacked me because I always behave properly, unlike Michel who goes to training drunk," he added. The Cairo giants are enduring a turbulent period, having been eliminated from the CAF Champions League round of 32 at the hands of Sudan's Hilal and lost any hopes of catching up with Egyptian League leaders Ahli.
