Italian giants AC Milan will face German champions Bayern Munich while Valencia take on Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. In the draw that took place in Athens on Friday, 2005 winners Liverpool have been paired with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and Premiership leaders Manchester United have been drawn with AS Roma. Roma or United will face the winners of the clash between Milan and Bayern while Chelsea could face Liverpool in an all-Premiership encounter in the competition's semi-finals. Bavarian giants Bayern Munich will be looking for revenge as they were handed a 5-2 aggregate defeat to Milan in last season's first knockout round.
The Champions League is Rossoneri's only chance of winning silverware as they endure a turbulent season in Serie A having started the campaign with an eight-point penalty from the Italian match-fixing scandal. United are fighting on three fronts with the hope of repeating the 1999's treble under Scottish tactician Alex Ferguson while dark horses Roma are aiming to go as far as they can in Europe's premier competition. Liverpool must go beyond the ambitious PSV if they are to clinch their second Champions League title under Rafael Benitez. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho won the title before with Portuguese giants Porto and definitely he would like to repeat the fate of European glory. Valencia will be looking to overcome their bad luck as they reached two successive finals in 2000 and 2001 but failed to deliver success after losing to Real Madrid and Bayern respectively.
