Chelsea captain John Terry is set to miss his side's UEFA Champions League round of 16 return game against Porto on Tuesday, manager Jose Mourinho revealed. The Chelsea boss said he does not wish to risk his influential defender after the head injury he suffered in last weekend's Carling Cup final against Arsenal. "JT to play against Porto? No chance," said Mourinho in a news conference after the Portsmouth game on Saturday. "The man is before the player. JT is more important than a football result and we don't risk him. The medical rules are the medical rules."
Mourinho The England defender missed Chelsea's 2-0 Premiership victory at Portsmouth and he is expected to be ready for action by next week when he completes his recovery. "Maybe next weekend against Tottenham [in the FA Cup quarter-finals]," confirmed Mourinho. A goalless draw will be enough for the English champions to go through to the Champions League quarter finals as they managed a 1-1 first leg draw at Porto.
