Tottenham striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' has refuted rumors suggesting that he is on his way out of White Hart Lane due to lack of regular first-team action. "I won't leave Tottenham, my limited appearances are due to bad luck as I was hit with four injuries in just one season," Mido told FilGoal.com in a phone interview on Thursday. The impressive displays by Tottenham's attacking duo Dimitar Berbatov and Jermain Defoe and the preference of Robbie Keane as back-up sparked speculations that coach Martin Jol could offload the Egypt international striker. "It's true that I talked to Jol and expressed my desire to play but he told told me that he's using a rotation policy which i'm an integral part of."
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Spanish side Celta Vigo, whom he spent with a successful loan spell in 2003 that saw them qualify to the UEFA Champions League. However, Mido said that his Dutch boss intends to keep him at Spurs. "Tottenham received an offer from an English club few days ago demanding to loan me but Jol refused to let go of me," Mido said. Mido scored just one goal for Tottenham in the Premiership so far and his last league appearance came against Liverpool on the 30th of December 2006.
