Ahli coach Manuel Jose has been fuming following his side's 1-1 draw with Sfaxien in the first leg of the African Champions League final in Cairo, hitting out at the referee and then at Egyptian reporters. The Cairo draw on Sunday limited Ahli's chances to retain their title when they play Sfaxien in Tunis on November 11th. Jose accused Gambian referee Modou Sowe of failing to stop Sfaxien from wasting time and stalling the play on many occasions. "We have sent to the CAF before the game to proof with video evidence that Sfaxien always play a negative game," Jose told the post-match press conference. "Their goalkeeper (Ahmed Jaouachi) alone wasted about nine minutes in Tunisia in the group stage. "It seems that CAF doesn't care about how much time football is played during a game or any similar issues. "But even with this scandalous refereeing, we could have finished Sfaxien off in the first half when we squandered three easy chances."
Emad Meteb reacts after missing the target The Portuguese manager called upon the Egyptian FA to back Ahli in the upcoming period before the second leg. He hinted that the African champions will ask to delay their league game against ENPPI on November fifth. Jose blasted also Egyptian journalists who questioned his line-up and decisions through out the game. The Ahli boss yelled at one of them that he has 'zero knowledge' of football because he asked why Hassan Mustafa and Amr Fathi 'Samaka' were dropped from the squad. "Never forget that I was the coach who won the African title last year and reached the final this year despite missing six starters through injuries," Jose dogged at the reporter. When he was asked by another journalist why Ahmed Shedid was substituted, he said: "I changed him because he was exhausted and you should only praise me for fielding such a youngster in this big game." Jose has always stirred controversies in press conferences with reporters and opponent coaches because of his offensive remarks and beyond-the-limit criticism.
