Arsenal made up for their European defeat on Sunday when they crushed Reading 4-0 in the Premiership. The victory placed Arsenal jumped to fourth spot with 17 points, five adrift of joint leaders Manchester United and Chelsea, with one match in hand. Their 1-0 defeat to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League earlier this week was overshadowed by a flawless display away from home. Thierry Henry broke the deadlock as early as the first minute when he poked home a Cesc Fabregas pass. Alexander Hleb extended the lead in the 39th minute after a give-and-go with Tomas Rosicky. The Gunners went three up five minutes after the break as Hleb slipped the ball back to Robin van Persie to flick past the keeper. Captain Henry completed the rout in the 70th minute from the spot after Fabregas was downed inside the box. Captain Henry converted a penalty after Marcus Hahnemann's foul on Fabregas as Arsenal completely outclassed Reading.
