Egypt's national youth team advanced to the second round of the 2007 African Nations Cup qualifiers despite a 2-0 away defeat to Algeria on Sunday. The young Pharaohs secured passage to the next phase on aggregate victory as they grabbed a 4-0 win at home in the first-leg of the playoff qualifier. Amin Adawi put Algeria ahead in the 20th minute with a well-taken header before Amin Lolehia doubled the lead from a powerful free-kick. Egypt will take on Burundi in the second round. The first-leg will be played late in September while the return match will take place in October. The first four teams in the African Cup will qualify to the World Cup in Canada in 2007.
