Tunisia defender Hatem Trabelsi has announced his international retirement after his side were crashed out of the World Cup from the group stages, the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) said on Saturday. The 29-year-old wants to focus on his club career and to have more time to spend with his family, the FTF official website reported. The Ajax defender made his international debut in 1998; he contributed to Tunisia's 2004 African Cup of Nations triumph and was part of his country's squad that participated in three successive World Cups (1998, 2002 and 2006). Tunisia were eliminated from the World Cup after they came third in Group H with just one point, following a draw with Saudi Arabia and two defeats against Ukraine and Spain.
