Ahli a réussi de remporter le championnat pour la deuxième saison consécutive suite à sa victoire 2-0 contre Zamalek au match qui a opposé les deux équipes, dimanche soir, à l'occasion de la 24ème journée au stade international du Caire. Les deux buts des rouges ont été marqués par Emad Meteb à la 7 minutes et Mohamed Abou Tréka à la 10ème minute. Les rouges qui cherchaient un seul point du match de ce soir face à Zamalek ont réussi un début de match très offensif surtout sur le couloir gauche grâce à la vitesse d'Islam El-Chater. Zamalek a réussi de revenir au match avec le début de la deuxième mi-temps et ses joueurs ont raté plusieurs occasions dont le plus grand était celui d'Abdel-Halim Ali à la 70ème minute pour que le match se termine avec la victoire des rouges 2-0 qui remportent le titre pour la 31ème fois de leur histoire.
