Scotsman Stuart Dougal has been appointed to referee the Egyptian derby clash between Ahli and Zamalek on Sunday May 14th, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Wednesday. The EFA had contacted their Scottish counterparts on Wednesday in order to appoint a referee for the pivotal clash and their football association (SFA) immediately agreed. "The invitation to appoint the referee and the assistants was received today from the Egyptian FA. The Scottish FA was delighted to accept, even at such short notice," the SFA said in a statement on their official website. Dougal, who previously took charge of the Ahli-Zamalek derby in 2003, which ended in a 1-0 win gfor the latter, will be assisted be Martin Cryans and Francis Andrews. Al-Ghandour said the referees will arrive in Cairo early on Sunday morning and will leave 24 hours later. The EFA had previously contacted their Spanish and English counterparts to appoint a referee for Sunday's match before contacting the SFA. Dougal is 43-years-old and has been a FIFA referee since 1996. His career highlights include: Scottish Cup Final 2004 and Inter Toto Cup Final 2003.
