L'attaquant égyptien Ahmed Hossam “Mido” a dévoilé son désire de rester avec son club actuel Tottenham Hotspurs pour des années, mais la décision n'est plus à lui. Mido a expliqué lors de ses déclarations pour la chaîne privée anglaise « Sky Sports » le mardi:'' Je souhaite rester ici pour des années mais la décision n'est pas à moi, c'est à AS Rome de décider.'' AS Rome avait prêté Mido (23 ans) ) Tottenham en janvier 2005 pour un an et demi car il possède beaucoup d'attaquants.
Le club italien a le droit de garder l'attaquant égyptien puisqu'à 2010, date de la fin de son contrat avec le club et il a le droit aussi de le vendre s'il reçoit une bonne offre. Mido a ajouté : '' Je suis vraiment satisfait à Tottenham et j'espère que sa direction puisse avoir un accord avec Rome pour rester au Premiership.'' A noter que Mido a inscrit cette saison 11 buts en faveur de Tottenham.
