Egypt striker Ahmed Hossam "Mido" will miss Friday's quarter-final match against DR Congo in the African Cup of Nations, Egypt's coaching staff confirmed on Tuesday. Coach Hassan Shehata excluded Mido after medical reports stated the player will need six days to recuperate from a groin cramp, a national team insider source told Filgoal.com. Mido limped out midway through the first-half in Egypt's 3-1 win over Ivory Coast in the conclusion of Group A action on Saturday. The Tottenham striker will, however, be fit for the tournament's semi-final match if Egypt get past Congo. The 21-year-old will join his Egypt teammates on the bench during Congo's match for moral support.
