Tunisia head coach Roger Lemerre said that he was grateful of the Egyptian crowds' support to his side in their 4-1 victory over Zambia in their African Cup of Nations (ACN) Group C opener that took place on Sunday. Lemerre insisted that the crowds' chanting for Tunisia and their presence in the stands gave the match a unique flavour and filled it with action, the Frenchman told reporters in a press conference after the match. Lemerre also commended his players' physique and said that their aggressive approach against Zambia is what ended the match in their favour. On another hand, Zambia boss Kalusha Bwalya confessed that Tunisia earned their victory and insisted that his players didn't put on a good performance in front of the defending champions. Bwalya said that his side played well and scored in the first-half, but said that the Tunisians were able to make use of all the chances made available.
