Striker Ahmed Hossam “Mido” inspired Tottenham to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday. The Egypt international fired the Spurs in front after 31 minutes before setting up Ireland's Robbie Keane for the second in the 83rd minute. The win tightened Tottenham's grip on their 4th place in the Premiership table on 41 points, one behind third placed Liverpool while lie in 9th spot with 28 points. Tottenham took charge of the entire encounter with their impressive control of midfield and organized raids on the City goal. Mido grabbed a deserved opener for the visitors when he connected with a neat cross from Aaron Lennon, after a dreadful mistake from City defender Sylvain Distin, and fired home past David James. With seven minutes left to play Mido flicked a header into the path of Keane who unleashed an unstoppable drive past the hapless James to secure the three points for Tottenham.
