Ahli are looking for a venue to host their Champions League game against Orlando Pirates at night as their bid to move the fixture seems likely to fail. The defending champions are supposed to host South Africa's Pirates on August 4, which comes only three days before the end of Ramadan. With strong speculation that their opponents are unlikely to accept a postponement to August 9, Ahli are now looking for other options to avoid playing during fasting. "We are urging CAF, sports ministry and the interior ministry to find us a venue that can host the game at night," Ahli boss Mohamed Youssef told the club's website. "I hope our opponents don't have an advantage over us because of fasting. "We are looking for any stadium that could allow us to play at night." As Egyptian authorities insist on staging no games in Cairo or Alexandria, it is understood that the city of Aswan would be an option for Ahli. Ahli were forced to play against city rivals Zamalek during fasting hours in Gouna, with both sides repeatedly complaining from the timing of the game.
