Zamalek scored two quickfire goals to beat Ismaili 2-0 and maintain their perfect start to the Egyptian Premier League. The Whites had to thank youngster Mohamed Ibrahim for a virtuoso performance that saw him set up Ahmed Gaafar with the opener before scoring a wonderful second. Zamalek stretch their winning streak to eight straight games as they are now one victory away from equaling their best-ever start in 2003/2004. The victory also sends Zamalek six points clear of second-placed Ismaili in Group B of the Egyptian Premier League. Quick double and late controversy Even though Zamalek had most of the possession in the first half, it was Ismaili who came closer through a couple of efforts, including a superb solo run, by in-form midfielder Ahmed Khairi. But 18 minutes after the break, Zamalek got their goal when Gaafar tapped in following some good work by Ibrahim, in what was the former's last touch of the game. Only a minute later, the Whites stung again when Ibrahim fired an unstoppable shot past the hapless Mohamed Sobhi. Controversy Ismaili had a big penalty shout near the end when Omar Gamal was felled by Ahmed Eid inside the area, but referee Gehad Greisha waved play on. The Dervishes managing staff went furious as play was stopped for over five minutes, with goalkeeping coach Saafan Al-Saghir eventually receiving his marching orders.
