Al-Ahly still have a good chance to reach the CAF Champions League group stage despite their 2-0 loss at Libya's Ittihad on Friday, Ahmed Hassan told Filgoal.com. Younes Al-Shibani and Ahmed Zuway capitalised on the Red Devils' defensive lapses to head one goal each and seal a staggering victory for the Libyan outfit in the round of 16. Ahly have to beat Ittihad by a three-goal margin in the second leg in order to reach the group stage, nonetheless; Hassan believes the Cairo giants' task is not tough. "It's not a difficult job," the Ahly midfielder said. "We put in a good performance in the first leg but eventually lost the game. "Ahly spurned seven or eight scoring chances whereas only a couple of opportunities fell to Ittihad. "But they managed to convert them both." After new speculations over his future had resurfaced, Egypt skipper Hassan denied once again that he would move away from Ahly by the end of the season. Early this month, the 34-year-old was said to be targeted by Belgian second tier Lierse but the Egyptian veteran rebuffed the media suggestions. More reports claimed that Hassan was contacted by Lierse and his former club Anderlecht, where he spent two fruitful seasons before joining Ahly. But he reiterated his commitment to the Egyptian champions. "I'm staying here at Ahly, that's for sure," Hassan stated. "The reported negotiations with Lierse and Anderlecht never took place. This was probably a joke on April Fool's Day."
