CAIRO - Egyptian presidential hopeful Abdullah Al-Ashal has called on the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to form what he called a ‘survival national government', Al-Youm Al-Sabea website reported on Monday. Al-Ashaal told the website that the current Government of Essam Sharaf and the ex-Government of Ahmed Shafiq have sapped the enthusiasm of the Egyptians who took to streets, calling for social justice, freedom and an end to corruption. He emphasised that a new government should be given every authority to meet the revolutionaries' demands, adding that the SCAF hasn't seized the opportunity to establish a strong state. “The SCAF has sapped the Egyptian enthusiasm; nothing has changed,” he stressed. Al-Ashaal, rejecting the idea of forming a 'civil presidential council', as the political powers don't agree on such a council. He called on all powers to regain the spirit of the revolution and achieve its demands.
