CAIRO - Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Power Hassan Younis said on Sunday the World Bank (WB) has given Egypt $2.05 billion to finance a number of electric projects here, the official Middle East News Agency reports. Younis added that the WB has agreed to finance projects such as the North Giza Power Station and an electricity generating station south of Helwan. Younis discussed with Vice-President of the World Bank Shamshad Akhtar, who is currently in Egypt, how to boost co-operation between the bank and Egypt. The WB has previously helped finance several electric projects such as el-Tebeen Electric Power Station, south of Helwan, and power stations in Ain Sokhna and el-Koreimat.
