Coursera Inc. — a global online learning platform — announced on Tuesday that it is partnering with Delta University for Science and Technology to provide students with job-relevant, multi-disciplinary online learning and equip them with the necessary skills for in-demand jobs through the Coursera platform.
Becoming the first private university in Egypt to fully integrate Coursera for Campus into its curriculum to create opportunities and improve employability of graduates, this partnership will enable the university's students to have unlimited enrolments to Coursera's catalogue and access to world-class courses taught by over 275 leading university and industry partners, including Imperial College London, École Polytechnique, IBM, and Microsoft, among other global partners.
Furthermore, students will benefit from a world-class online, mobile, and hands-on learning experience while earning job-relevant credentials for courses they complete. The Coursera catalogue currently includes 5,200+ courses, 3,300+ guided projects, 650+ specialisations, and 115+ certificates.
Yehia Abdel Azim Al-Mashad — President of Delta University for Science and Technology — said: "We are thrilled to partner with Coursera to create new opportunities for our students to learn cutting-edge skills, build new capabilities, and prepare for the future of work. Our collaboration with Coursera will help us deliver on our Board of Trustees' vision and mission of becoming a leading university in education, research, and community service, and prepare graduates with job-based learning to be strong participants in the national and regional labour markets."
"Access to a variety of job-relevant credentials, combined with skills-based training, and hands-on learning will be key to building a competitive and resilient workforce and accelerating economic recovery," said Kais Zribi — Coursera's General Manager for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey.
"Through our collaboration with Delta University For Science And Technology, we are helping students improve their career readiness by mastering in-demand business, technology, and data science skills at unprecedented speed and scale, enabling them to drive innovation and thrive in the workforce."
With Coursera for Campus, Delta University for Science and Technology will:
* Receive powerful analytics tools to enable faculty to track learners and directly collect data on skills acquisition across the entire university.
* Compare their learner data to that of other partners across the Coursera platform by region and industry segment to identify where skills gaps are emerging and where Delta University for Science and Technology students excel.
* Curate content and learning pathways to ensure that students are introduced to courses optimised for their career requirements.
Coursera currently supports the skill development of more than 1.9 million learners in Egypt and more than 6.2 million learners across MENA. This total includes over 320,000 new registered Coursera learners across the region in the second quarter (2Q) of 2022.
