Egypt's cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, reviewed the government's programme, along with other economic and social topics, during its weekly meeting on Wednesday, ahead of its submission to parliament. The meeting reviewed a number of files and topics that aim to provide services and development for the benefit of citizens. Madbouly asserted that there are specific directives from President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi that will help Egyptian citizens witness positive outcomes from the economic reform programme during the coming period. Regarding the government's plan, the prime minister said that it will be a completion of the plans and goals initiated by the cabinet of former prime minister Sherif Ismail, pointing out that Egypt is a state of institutions that respect the achievements of former officials and work on continuing them. During last week's meeting, the cabinet reviewed the letter of the presidential mandate for the new government. Madbouly previously said that the presidential mandate included three axes. The first is to protect Egypt's national security by preserving the achievements of the previous phase and confronting the challenges that aim at influencing the ability of the state to improve its conditions and complete its development plans at various levels. On 14 June, Egypt's new cabinet was sworn in before President Al-Sisi days after the appointment of Madbouly as the new prime minister, succeeding Sherif Ismail, who resigned earlier this month. The new cabinet has the highest rate of women ministers in Egypt's history, with eight.
