CAIRO: Newly-promoted Premier League club Gouna have opened talks with Sherif Ekrami to sign him in the close season, a source close to the Egyptian keeper said on Friday. Ekrami has four offers from Egyptian clubs, but Gouna s is the highest one, the source told FilGoal.com. He will fly to Holland to terminate his contract with Feyenoord before deciding his next move. Ekrami, who came through Ahly s youth ranks, has been at Feyenoord since 2005 but made few appearances with them. He spent an unsuccessful three-month loan spell with Turkish side Ankaragucu last year. The 25-year-old goalie said recently he would return to the Egyptian league, but it remains to be seen whether he can reach a mutual agreement with Feyenoord to terminate his deal. Gouna, who will play in the top flight for the first time in their history, are also interested in Telecom Egypt s diminutive midfielder Wael Riad. Riad is set to invoke a relegation clause to leave Telecom, who were demoted to the second division. I haven t made up my mind yet over whether to stay with Telecom, the former Ahly man said. I have two other offers from Ittihad and Police Union, the 26-year-old, who scored three goals for Telecom, added.
