Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim has escaped unhurt following an explosion that targeted him on Thursday morning. A source in the Ministry of Interior confirmed that an explosion occurred in Nasr City at "approximately 10.30am." The source said that the ministry was still gathering information but guaranteed that Ibrahim was unhurt. The source also confirmed that the explosion occurred on Mostafa El-Nahas Street adding that this is near to the minister's home. State news agency MENA reported that the attack targeted his motorcade, which was travelling to the ministry in downtown Cairo. A security source told MENA that the source of the explosion was a car bomb.
